A warm welcome to Wa Wa Women. Here you will find friendly, nourishing singing circles for women to feel uplifted, supported and connected through group singing. We offer a safe space for women of all ages and walks of life to come together to sing for wellbeing and connection rather than perfection.
In each circle, we sing beautiful, simple songs that often have empowering lyrics or come from affirmations. These songs use beautiful harmonies that come together effortlessly and allow us to use our voices to express, release and reconnect.
Our songs are taught by ear which means there is no requirement to read music or have any previous experience and our songs are sung without accompaniment highlighting the natural voice.
This is an opportunity to experience the benefits of group singing in a warm and supportive space. Singing helps to regulate our breathing, improves posture and strengthens lungs. It also opens our hearts, lifts our spirits, releases emotion and reconnects us to ourselves and each other.
Refreshments are included in all of our sessions.
We are affiliated to Singing Mamas CIC who are a not-for-profit organisation training song sharers and providing Women’s Singing Circles to improve connection, mental health and general well-being for all women. You can find out more about their work here.
We run two singing circles every Wednesday during term time as follows
MORNINGS
9.30am to 11am
St Peter & St Pauls Church Hall (Market Place)
PLEASE NOTE – Babies and children are welcome to accompany Mum’s to this session!
EVENINGS
7.30 to 9pm
Uppingham Methodist Church Hall (Cross Roads)
These sessions are £9 per week paid for in a termly block online or there is the option to pay a weekly drop in fee of £12.
